“When life gives you lemons, make lemonade!” is a proverbial phrase used to encourage optimism and a positive ‘can-do’ attitude in the face of adversity or misfortune. Lemons suggest sourness or difficulty in life; therefor making lemonade out of these lemons is turning them into something positive or desirable!
How to make ‘lip-lek-lekker’ home-made lemonade:
- Add 375 ml of freshly squeezed lemon juice to 1250 ml of cold water (still or sparkling) into a large pitcher.
- Add 375ml sugar and stir until the sugar is completely dissolved.
- Cut two lemons in slices and put into the pitcher
- Top up with ice to keep it nice and cold.
