Magalies hosts Super 6’s school cricket tournament in Bloemfontein and Brits

Magalies recently hosted the Super 6 Cricket tournament for primary schools in Bloemfontein, for the 5th consecutive year, and in Brits for the first time this year, for boys u/13 teams.

The Bloemfontein tournament was hosted along with Fichardt Park primary school. Eight u/13 teams participated which included President Brand, Jim Fouché, Willem Postma, Universitas (Tjokkies), Regional Performance Centre (Free State Cricket Union), Onze Rust and two teams from Fichardt Park. This year Willem Postma primary school clinched victory and received R1000 in prize money. Fichardt Park came in second place, and received R500 in prize money, and each player also received a bottle of Magalies concentrated fruit juice. Every player that participated in the tournament received a Magalies hamper with a whole bunch of Magalies goodies prior to the start of the event. Free, ice cold juice-on-tap was also available to all the players and coaches during their matches.

Ten schools participated in the Brits tournament this year, which was hosted along with Brits Sporthuis, at Thornhill primary school. The teams were from Olienpark, Brits, GHS, Thornhill, Elandskraal, Sanddrift, De Kroon, Pansdrift, Sonop and Voorwaarts primary schools. All the teams received a R1000 gift voucher for cricket gear at Brits Sporthuis. Every player also received a Magalies cap and bottle of Magalies fruit juice concentrate. The coaches were treated to a lunch meal, and boerewors rolls were prepared for the players. The boys from Brits primary school beat Olienpark primary school in the final match, and were crowned the winners of the tournament.
