Beverage Trends in 2022: – Mocktails – Volume 6 – (Article 6 of 6)

by Dr. Marli Botha

We have already seen an increase in non-alcoholic wines, spirits and beers hit the market, and this trend was further enhanced by numerous alcohol bans over the past two years. While some people are cutting back entirely, others are switching to beverages that taste like their favourite tipples, but without the alcohol. Once thought to be a passing — even mockable – mocktails!

  • Added to this is the fact that canned drinks are more convenient – especially during a pandemic where we’re all reluctant to share glasses. Keeping up with these trends left us with canned mocktails instead of canned wines, cocktails and seltzers. Even better will be if these mocktails can offer health benefits at the same time, like low sugar.
  • In addition to health and religious reasons, people request these drinks because they don’t want to appear out of place while out with friends or colleagues Consumers need another option than just a plain old soft drink warm tea, fruit juice, water or decaf coffee, but something more interesting and well crafted.
  • You may be a little sceptical about non-alcoholic cocktails, known as mocktails, but these drinks are full of flavour and allow you to join in the celebration without drinking alcohol.
  • If you are missing your traditional Sunday brunch mimosa, FAUXMOSA has you covered. You can enjoy delicious drinks that offer the taste of champagne along with real fruit juice, botanical flavours and adaptogens. As an added bonus, FAUXMOSAs are made using all-natural ingredients and there are zero artificial sweeteners, added sugar or preservatives.
