Hola! Buenos días señor y señora! With this excellent recipe we are taking you on an imaginary trip to splendorous Spain, where Sangria is one of their most famous traditional drinks! In fact the Spanish even celebrate National Sangria Day each year on the 20th of December! The name sangria comes from sangre, the Spanish word for blood. Traditional recipes feature red wine, brandy or rum, mixed with fruits, such as pineapple, peaches, nectarines, berries, apples, pears, or melon, sweetened with sugar and orange juice. We are going to give it a local twist though, using one of our own Magalies products…!
Ingredients:
- 1 x 750 ml red wine (any kind)
- 2 x 400 ml Magalies L’monfizz Appl’ Green
- ¼ cup brandy (optional, for an extra ‘patada’!)
- 1 orange cut in small wedges
- 1 apple cut in small wedges
- 1 cup of grapes cut into halves
- Few mint leaves
- Add any other fruit you fancy, like berries!
- Ice cubes
Method:
- Mix the fruit pieces and 2 mint leaves together in a bowl or jug with a wooden spoon
- Add the cup of ice cubes
- Add the wine and brandy
- Add the Magalies Appl’ Green L’monfizz
- Stir gently
- Place some ice in a glass, pour the Sangria and a few of the fruit pieces.
- Garnish with Mint leaves
- Makes 1.5 litres
Cheers to a great festivity, or as the Spanish would say: “Salud”!
