You should try to eat a variety of colours during the day: orange, red, yellow, green, blue, white, and purple. Every colour has unique vitamins. Try eating some of these orange colour fruits today!
- Orange – coloured fruits and vegetables gets their colour from the antioxidants (carotenoids) in orange fruits, beta-carotene, also maintains glowing skin, hair, and eyesight.
- Because most people’s diets are deficient in beta-carotene, it’s critical to include a few orange fruits on your plate every day. Carotenoids are fat-soluble antioxidants, which means they can be deposited in fat cells, and they can pair up with free radical electrons to prevent damage at a cellular level.
- Citrus fruits such as oranges, grapefruits and tangerines, which contain the potent antioxidant vitamin C as well as folate, a B vitamin that helps reduce the risk of birth defects.
- The flavonoids in citrus fruits work together with vitamin C to help reduce the risk of cancer, strengthen bones and teeth, help heal wounds, keep skin healthy and lower the risk of heart attack.
- Research suggests eating more high-carotenoid foods may help prevent excess fat storage, especially around your midsection.
- Fruits: persimmons, apricots, peaches, nectarines, cantaloupe, mango, and papaya
- Vegetables: carrots, pumpkins, sweet potatoes.
