Commonly known for its sour and tangy taste, grapefruit is the rotund, yellow-orange fruit of an evergreen citrus tree. Grapefruit essential oil is derived from the rind of this fruit and is cherished for its many uses and benefits.

Here are 3 uses and benefits of grapefruit essential oil:

  1. Grapefruit is well-known for its ability to support a healthy metabolism by adding one to two drops of Food Grade Grapefruit oil to your water. This essential oil addition to your drinks will also give your water a flavour-filled and vitalizing boost.
  2. Grapefruit blends well with a variety of different essential oils for additional body and mind benefits. For an ideal blend, combine Grapefruit with Frankincense, Ylang-Ylang, Geranium, Lavender, Peppermint, Rosemary, and Bergamot essential oils for diffusion.
  3. Consumer studies have shown that grapefruit oil may help to cleanse your hair and scalp thoroughly when it’s added to your shampoo or conditioner. You can add a few drops of grapefruit essential oil to your shampoo to get that head of lovely locks looking fab. This is also going to keep your head from getting greasy too. It helps control sebum production, which is the stuff that leads to greasy hair days happening. Plus, if you colour your hair, grapefruit oil might also be able to protect strands from sunlight damage.
